Ali Hafizi is a refugee from Afganistan and an American entrepreneur. Ali, his parents, and 7 younger siblings fled Afganistan after his sister was killed and his father was disabled during the civil war. In 1998 he fled to Pakistan, where he succesfully sought asylum and migrated to the U.S.

Ali now operates a street-side coffee and breakfast business in New York. He works 16 hour days, supporting his entire family and putting his younger siblings through school. Ali is now saving money to open a free-standing restaurant franchise where he can work with his family.
